Local man wins $60K Corvette in fundraiser’s raffle
—Steven Lopate, a Paso Robles local, bought two raffle tickets for a 2019 Corvette Stingray in early May and is now the proud owner of the $60,000 car. This raffle was contestant Kate Compton’s campaign for the annual Elks Rodeo Queen Fundraiser that raised over $40,000 for VTC Enterprises, which helps developmentally disabled adults in the job industry and daily activities.
On the day of the raffle, Lopate and his girlfriend, Adrianna, were in Santa Maria for her breast cancer chemotherapy session at the Mission Hope Cancer Center. The Home Motors Chevrolet dealership, where the raffle was taking place, was near the center and Lopate walked over to see the Corvette. He purchased two $100 tickets and had a feeling that he had the lucky one, according to reports.
Lopate, who is a car enthusiast, owns twelve cars, according to reports, and added the Corvette to his collection on June 6.
