Local hops available to home brewers
– PasoHops, a local sustainable grower of organic hops, this week announced it has immediate availability of Cascade hops for home brewers.
“We want to be sure that home brewers know that locally-grown, organic hops are readily available directly from our farm or our website at www.pasohops.com,” says owner Linda Reed.
PasoHops was established in 2011 by Linda and Ken Reed and is dedicated to bringing organic, sustainable principles to the art of hop growing. The 10-acre Skip Hop farm in San Miguel is focused on helping home brewers enhance their craft. In addition to hops, the couple grow lavender, almonds, figs, olives and pistachios.
Hop cones are available wet (in season) or dried, and brewers are invited to schedule an appointment to pick the hops themselves or order them online. Wet hops are $3 per ounce and dried hops are $6 per ounce.
