Local churches host open-air gathering in Sunken Gardens

–Late Sunday afternoon, about a hundred locals gathered at the Sunken Gardens in Atascadero for an open-air religious celebration. Those who attended came from as far away as Santa Maria. People from more than five local churches participated in the event. Singers led the group in “Amazing Grace” and other Christian songs. A woman identified only as “Brenda” talked to the congregation, and thanked them for coming out to celebrate at the Sunken Gardens.

The celebration began at 4 p.m. and concluded shortly before rain showers arrived in Atascadero late Sunday afternoon.
