Letter: Is it ok for a republican to vote “yes” on Measure G?
To the editor,
How do you think 3 former Republican Presidents would vote on Measure G? These Republicans had the guts to do the right things despite corporate objections and threats. They had vision for a sustainable future that seems to have been forgotten.
D. W. Eisenhower had the guts to warn us of the dangerous growing control of our political system and science/education development by the Military Industrial (Oil) Complex.
Richard Nixon had the guts to stand up to Big Money and the Military by creating the Endangered Species, Clean Air and Clean Water Acts, established the E.P.A. and ended the War in Viet Nam.
George W. Bush had the guts to anger his father and the Fossil Fuel Industry by stating, “We must begin to wean ourselves from Oil and Coal.” More than 20 years ago!
When do we start the weaning? Start now! Vote “yes” on G.
