Learn how to take clear photos of artwork with artist Patricia Newton
– Art Center Morro Bay is offering a free demonstration on how to capture clear and vibrant photos of art. The event, titled “From Photo to Paint, and from Paint to Photo,” will be hosted by artist Patricia Newton, who has exhibited her oil paintings in numerous galleries along the Central Coast and has won several awards.
In addition to her paintings, Newton is also known for her photography skills. She has developed a keen eye for identifying photos that fail to do justice to dynamic and beautiful artwork. The art center has invited her to share her knowledge and teach attendees how to properly capture photos of art.
During the demonstration, attendees will learn important techniques such as cropping, rendering images in dpi300, and selecting good photos for painting. They will also be taught how to compensate for shadows and color contrast when moving from photos to paintings.
