Leaders to host small business resources tele-meeting in Spanish on Thursday

–On Thursday, April 9, US Congressman Salud Carbajal (D-Santa Barbara), State Senator Hannah-Beth Jackson (D-Santa Barbara) and State Assemblywoman Monique Limón (D-Santa Barbara), along with a representative from the U.S. Small Business Administration, will be hosting a teleconference in Spanish for 24th Congressional District residents to learn more about what resources are available to small businesses as they deal with the impacts of coronavirus.

Participants should email their small business relief questions to [email protected] by 12 p.m. on Thursday, April 9.

During the town hall, the legislators and a Spanish-speaking SBA representative will give federal updates on the resources available to small businesses. They will also read and respond to participant questions. Community members who would like their questions answered during the town hall should email those questions to [email protected] by 12 p.m. PDT on Thursday, April 9.

With $377 billion in small business assistance and relief included in the passage of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act as well as other federal provisions that have been implemented to help workers and small businesses during the coronavirus pandemic, this tele-town hall is an opportunity for Central Coast business owners and constituents to understand what help is available to them.

Last week, a similar tele-town hall was held in English by the legislators to inform Central Coast business owners of the relief options available to them.

California’s 24th Congressional District encompasses all of Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties, and part of Ventura County.
