The City of Atascadero Public Works Department and the Friends of Atascadero Lake will hold the 3rd annual Atascadero Lake Perimeter Cleanup Day on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

Volunteers are asked to meet in front of the Pavilion on the Lake at 8:30 a.m. to check in, and to bring work gloves, a hat, water, and clippers, loppers, rakes or other handy trimming and clearing tools.

The annual Lake Cleanup Day is being held to help clear the unwanted brush, weeds and litter from along the pathway around the Lake and to improve the lake environment. The city has previously arranged for a herd of goats which is busily performing environmentally-friendly vegetation removal at the lake, but some extra people power is needed too, according to the city.

The more volunteers willing to lend a hand will help to make the job quicker, easier, and fun. Come on out to Atascadero Lake on Oct. 24, support the work being done to improve the lake and help to get it ready for a rainy El Nino season to come.
