Preschool storytimes
Preschool storytimes are scheduled on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings at 10:30. The library will share stories and songs.
Toddler storytimes
Join the library for a storytime specifically designed for toddlers every Friday morning at 10:30. The library will share stories, rhymes, music, and fingerplays.
Family movie
Saturday, July 6 at 2 p.m. Fun for all ages. See the library website for details.
Wild Child bubble show
Thursday, July 11 at 11 a.m. Learn the science of bubbles while being wildly entertained. Fun for all ages.
Chris Lopez magic show
Thursday, July 18 at 11 a.m. This award-winning magician is a crowd favorite. Fun for all ages.
Mad Science of LA
Thursday, July 25 at 11 a.m. Science comes to life with interactive experiments. Fun for all ages.
Teen programs
Teen Intro to sewing
Wednesday, July 10 and July 17 at 1. Registration required. Ages 10-17.
Teen watercolor painting
Saturday, July 13 at 11. Watercolor instruction and a painting to keep. Registration required. Ages 10-17.
Teen Zen gardening
Saturday, July 20 at 11. Teens can create their own zen garden. Registration required. Ages 10-17.
Teen Intro to leatherworking
Friday, July 26 at 3. Create and keep a leather project. Registration required. Ages 10-17.
Teen Advisory Board meeting
The board meets every third Friday of the month (July 19) at 3:30. Bring your ideas on what you would like to see in the library and stay for the raffle and refreshments! Sign up at meeting required. Ages 13-17.
Adult programs
Centennial Celebration
Saturday, July 6: all day. Join the library for cake to celebrate 100 years of public libraries in SLO County.
Hearst program: Marion Davies
Saturday, July 6 at 10:30. Docents from Hearst Castle will conduct a presentation on Marion Davies, companion, and confidante to W.R. Hearst.
Book discussion groups
The two library book groups are Gem in the Stacks which meets the second Tuesday (July 9) this month at 11 and Mixed Minds Book Group which meets the third Thursday (July 18) of the month at 2:30. Gems in the Stacks will discuss Manhattan Beach by Jennifer Egan. Mixed Minds will discuss Her Fearful Symmetry by Audrey Niffenegger.
Summer in Pastels
Art is on display from June through August. Featuring artwork by members of the Pastel Artists of the Central Coast.
