Ismay performing at Bristols Cider House in Atascadero
– Folk/Americana singer-songwriter Ismay will be performing as a duo supporting Sunny War on Wednesday, May 24 at Bristols Cider House at 7 p.m. Tickets for the event are on sale now.
Ismay is a Folk/Americana music project driven by California-based singer/songwriter Avery Hellman. Growing up backstage at her grandfather’s Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival, Ismay was inspired early on by artists such as Emmylou Harris, Gillian Welch, and Hazel Dickens.
Ismay has been featured on Reese Witherspoon and Kacey Musgraves’ AppleTV+ show “My Country of Country.” Her debut album, “Songs Of Sonoma Mountain,” was named one of the 10 best albums in the Bay Area in 2020 and has been featured in American Songwriter, No Depression, Sonoma Magazine, and more.
Currently, Ismay is working on her sophomore album with esteemed Folk/Americana multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer Andrew Marlin of Watchhouse. Ismay has opened for acclaimed artists such as Steve Earle, Watchhouse, Justin Townes Earle, Robert Earl Keen, John Doe, and Chuck Prophet. She has also performed at music festivals such as Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, Strawberry Music Festival, The National Cowboy Poetry Gathering, The Lantern Tour, SF Jazz Fest Americana Week, and at renowned venues such as the Great American Music Hall, Slim’s, the Golden State Theater, and the Mystic Theater.
On May 2, Ismay will release her new single “Stranger in The Barn.”
