Injured football player Isaac Lindsey returns home
–Local football player Isaac Lindsey, who was injured playing for the Templeton Eagles, arrived back in town this afternoon at about 2:45 p.m. with a police escort down Main Street. He was driven home today from an acute rehab center in San Jose.
Community members lined Main Street with signs and cheers to welcome him home. Waving to the crowd from his family mini-van, driven by friend Suzanne Anderson, Lindsey was accompanied by his mom, Jenny, and friend, Colton Anderson, as his father, Michael, drove close behind. His siblings, Mattie and Louis, joined the well-wishers with signs of their own.
After suffering a traumatic head injury during a football game on Oct. 2, Lindsey was treated at Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center in San Luis Obispo before being transferred to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center.
The Lindsey family has witnessed a tremendous outpouring of support from the community. More than $100,000 was raised on GoFundMe and through other fundraisers that have been held since that night. Residents have displayed signs and bumper stickers showing support for Lindsey with his name and jersey No. 32 displayed all over town.
