Informational events set for kindergarten, transitional kindergarten enrollment
Atascadero schools open kindergarten enrollment from March 1 to 31
– The Atascadero Unified School District has announced its kindergarten and transitional kindergarten enrollment process for the 2025 school year. Parents are encouraged to attend informational events and begin enrollment during the designated period.
Eligibility requirements
- Children must be five years old on or before Sept. 1, 2025, to enroll in kindergarten.
- Children turning five between Sept. 2, 2025, and Sept. 1, 2026, are eligible for transitional kindergarten.
Enrollment period
The initial enrollment period for kindergarten and transitional kindergarten will run from March 1 through March 31.

- Thursday, Feb. 27: 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
How to enroll
Parents should attend the Parent Information Night at their school of residence and pick up an enrollment packet. Online registration is available on the district’s website at atasusd.org under the “For Parents” section.
Completed registration documents should be returned to the child’s school of residence between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. beginning March 1. Registration is not complete until all required documentation is submitted.
