Hundreds turn out to support ECHO at ‘Empty Bowls’ fundraiser
–In Atascadero, more than 400 people sampled some great soup at the Empty Bowls Luncheon to raise money for the El Camino Homeless Organization, or ECHO.
For $25, each visitor received soup, locally made bread, an artistic ceramic pot made by local potters and a knitted item by local knitters.
Celebrity soup servers included Paso Robles Mayor Steve Martin, Atascadero Mayor Tom O’Malley, County Sheriff Ian Parkinson and Barbi Butz of Atascadero.
The fundraiser raises money to help ECHO serve the homeless in the North County.
