Humane society seeking help for dogs that were seized from Atascadero home
Woods Humane Society transfers recently seized dogs from SLO County Animal Services
–San Luis Obispo County Animal Services recently seized 46 dogs as the result of an animal cruelty investigation. After three weeks in the county shelter, the dogs are now available for transfer. Woods Humane Society is ready to help and is asking for the community’s support.
Woods will transfer as many dogs as possible into the adoption program but many of the dogs are older and in need of immediate medical or dental care. Unfortunately the organization’s funds available for veterinary care are dwindling. Recent emergency veterinary expenses exceeded $5,000 and Woods is in need of donations to replenish their Crystal Fund.
Money in the Crystal Fund gives the Woods team the flexibility to take in animals that need extra veterinary care. Understanding that these dogs have been through so much, Woods is asking for the community for donations to ensure these animals receive all the care they need. With the community’s support, Woods will be able to take in many of the dogs and find them permanent loving homes.
Donations can be made online at http://www.woodshumanesociety.org/donate or by mailing a check to Woods Humane Society, 875 Oklahoma Avenue, San Luis Obispo, CA 93405. Please note “Crystal Fund” on the memo line of your check. All donations are tax deductible.
The dogs will be available for adoption following medical evaluation and treatment.
