–The City of Atascadero will present their annual Light Up the Downtown Holiday Celebration on Friday, Dec. 6, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. in the Sunken Gardens, Downtown Atascadero.
Beginning at 5:30 p.m., you can sip and shop with the Atascadero Chamber of Commerce’s ever-popular Art & Wine Tour. Soon after the lights come on, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be arriving via an antique Model-A fire truck to the tune of “Here Comes Santa Claus.” You will then be invited to visit Santa and Mrs. Claus at the North Pole entrance located at the back of City Hall that faces Atascadero Jr High.
Entertainment includes performances from the Atascadero High School Show Choir along with the Atascadero Community Band, followed by Medina Light Show and Designs playing holiday favorites. The fun continues with complimentary tours of City Hall from 6:30 – 8 p.m. with the Atascadero Historical Society docents. Complimentary rides on the Model-A Firetruck around Downtown, along with Hayrides around City Hall from Harris Stage Lines. Free hot chocolate will be provided by Lighthouse Coffee, NCI Affiliates, and Orange Dog Café (while supplies last!)
