Highway 41 closure set for Oct. 20
–State Route 41 will be fully closed in both directions from the Highway 46 East/State Route 41 Interchange in Cholame to State Route 33 in Kings County on Tuesday, Oct. 20 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for highway maintenance work which will include pavement crack sealing, rock slope protection and mowing.
Motorists may use the following detours during this one-day project:
· Motorists headed northbound will continue on Highway 46 East to State Route 33 to Highway 41.
· Motorists headed southbound on Highway 41 will detour to State Route 33 to Highway 46 East.
· Kecks Road at Highway 46 East will remain open but is not recommended as a detour.
This highway closure will add 27 miles to the regular commute for a total of a 50 mile detour. Message boards have been activated on State Route 41 in Cholame and Kettleman City to advise motorists of this closure and detours.
