Highway 41 closure scheduled for Tuesday
Caltrans will resurface a section of State Route 41 from the Hwy. 46 East/State Route 41 interchange to the summit of Cottonwood Pass on Tuesday, June 16.
This maintenance work will result in a full closure of 15 miles of State Route 41 from the State Route 41 Intersection to State Route 33 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Motorists may use the following detours during this one-day project:
· Motorists headed northbound will continue on Highway 46 East to State Route 33 to State Route 41.
· Motorists headed southbound on State Route 41 will detour to State Route 33 to Highway 46.
Kecks Road at Hwy. 46 East will be closed to all motorists during this road work.
This detour will add an additional 27 miles/minutes to the regular commute for a total of a 50 mile detour. Electronic message boards have been activated on Highway 41 in Cholame and Kettleman City to advise motorists of this closure and detours.
