Highway 101 at Los Osos Valley Road to close various times over five nights
U.S. Highway 101 at Los Osos Valley Road will undergo various nighttime closures between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. from Sunday evening, March 29, until Friday morning, April 3, weather permitting. Closures will include U.S. Highway 101 lanes, on and off-ramps, and the full freeway, throughout the night.
The purpose of the closures is to erect temporary supports for the construction of the new over-crossing bridge, work that cannot be performed over live traffic on U.S. Highway 101 for safety reasons.
NOTE: Drivers are encouraged to allow for additional time while passing through or traveling to areas accessed by the U.S Highway 101 – Los Osos Valley Road interchange. Electronic message boards will be posted to alert motorists of the closures. Detour signage will direct motorists through any detour routes established for the particular closures.
The contractor for this project is Granite Construction of Santa Barbara.
The City of San Luis Obispo and Caltrans would like to remind motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway construction zones.
