Heat advisory in effect for Atascadero

– The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for North County that remains in effect until 8 p.m. PDT this evening. An excessive heat watch is also in effect from Saturday morning through Monday evening.

The heat advisory warns of temperatures reaching up to 105 degrees. The excessive heat watch indicates dangerously hot conditions, with temperatures also potentially hitting 105 degrees.

Areas affected include Cuyama Valley, the interior valleys of San Luis Obispo County, the San Luis Obispo County mountains, and the southern Salinas Valley.

The National Weather Service reports a high risk for dangerous heat illness for anyone, especially for the very young, the elderly, those without air conditioning, and those engaged in outdoor activities.
