Greyhounds beat Long Beach
–The Atascadero softball team beat Woodrow Wilson High School of Long Beach, 5-1 Tuesday, to advance in the CIF Playoffs.
Bailey Doherty held Wilson batters to one run. The Greyhound defense backed her up well. The Greyhounds rallied to score three runs in the third to score three runs. They got an insurance run in the sixth.
The Greyhounds will travel to Riverside to take on Patriot High School Thursday afternoon.
Templeton beat Pomona Catholic 1-0 Tuesday in their second-round game. The victory in Pomona sets up a game for Templeton at Harvard-Westlake on Thursday.
In Paso Robles, Sonora of La Habra beat the Bearcats 9-0 to end the softball season for PRHS.
In San Luis Obispo, Arlington’s baseball team beat San Luis Obispo 9-3 to eliminate the Tigers from the CIF playoffs.
