Governor endorses congressional candidate
–On Monday, California Governor Jerry Brown announced his support for Salud Carbajal in the race to represent California’s 24th Congressional District.
Governor Brown said he recognizes Salud Carbajal’s commitment to helping middle-class families get ahead and his experience leading efforts to combat the devastating effects of climate change. Carbajal served with Governor Brown on President Obama’s task force on climate preparedness and resilience. Brown also appointed Carbajal to California’s State Seismic Safety Commission.
“We need congress to work together and solve problems for the American people,” said Brown. “I am strongly endorsing Salud Carbajal because he has a proven track record of working across party lines to get things done.”
“I am honored to have Governor Brown’s support in this election,” said Carbajal. “From protecting our environment to promoting gun safety to raising the minimum wage, I am proud of his leadership on pushing issues important to our Central Coast families. In Congress, I look forward to continue working on behalf of our communities to protect and expand the progress our state has made under Governor Brown.”
