Garagiste Festival winemaker dinner to be held at Carlton Hotel
Fifth anniversary feast features micro-production garagiste wines matched with local foods; menu crafted by Chef Charles Paladin Wayne
–This year’s Fifth Anniversary Garagiste Wine Festival kicks off with a 5-course, 5th anniversary winemaker dinner matching area wines with locally-sourced foods helmed by local chef Charles Paladin Wayne. The dinner will be held Thursday, Nov. 5 at 6:30 p.m. at the historic Carlton Hotel in Atascadero. Tickets are $135 per person, all inclusive. The evening starts with bubbles and ends with chocolate.

Wine: Caliza 2013 Sidekick Viognier Roussanne Blend
First course: winter salad of roast beets, shaved rinconada pozo tomme, fennel, butternut squash and Windrose Farm greens
Wine: Erin E 2013 Pinot Noir
Second course: Cray fish cake with pickled julienne vegetables and smoked tomato salsa
Wine: 2010 Deno Wines “Two Bills” Grenache/Zinfandel Blend
Third course: Duck liver mousse with cognac, black pepper and aspic
Wine: 2011 Powell Mountain Cellars Alta Montana Blend
Fourth course: Quail stuffed with chorizo and manchego braised Windrose Farm Greens
Wine: 2012 MCV Wines 1012 Petite Sirah Blend
Fifth course: Roast Porchetta All Natural Tenderloin of Pork Seasoned and Wrapped with Pork Belly, Gratin of Fennel with a Fennel and Leeks Red Wine Sauce
Desert: Sweet Endings 72-percent dark bittersweet chocolate truffles with salted caramel scharffenberger cocoa nibs and dusted with Mexican spiced chocolate
