Former teacher arrested for child pornography possession

– A Nipomo man has been arrested on charges of possessing child pornography after deputies discovered explicit material on his phone during a routine patrol stop, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
On March 13, deputies contacted the occupant of a vehicle parked late at night near Los Berros Road and Highway 101. During the investigation, they determined the driver, identified as 54-year-old Gregory Kornman of Nipomo, was in possession of child pornography.
Kornman was a substitute teacher for the Santa Maria-Bonita School District, working with students in kindergarten through eighth grade. He is no longer an active teacher and is not currently affiliated with the district.
Kornman was arrested and is being held without bail. Since the arrest, additional search warrants have been served, and the case remains under investigation.
