Update: Former fitness club owner sentenced for crimes
Cole Charles Corrigan pleaded guilty to two counts of illegally recording patrons in restroom, being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun
– San Luis Obispo County District Attorney Dan Dow announced today that San Luis Obispo City resident Cole Charles Corrigan, 36, has been sentenced to serve 364 days in jail following his Nov. 28, 2023, guilty plea to two counts of illegally recording patrons within the restroom of now-shuttered CCC Fitness and to being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun.
In his guilty plea to illegally possessing the handgun, Corrigan admitted a 2007 felony conviction for possessing narcotics for sale. Corrigan is also subject to two years of formal probation, including conditions that he submits to a search of his person or property, including electronic devices, submit to periodic drug and polygraph testing, possess no weapons, and undergo sex offender counseling.
At the time of the illegal recording, Corrigan was the owner of CCC Fitness in San Luis Obispo. The surreptitious video recording occurred in Aug. 2023. During the investigation, officers served a search warrant on Corrigan’s vehicle and found he illegally possessed a handgun.
The case was investigated by the San Luis Obispo Police Department and prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Kimberly R. Dittrich of the District Attorney’s Sexual Assault Prosecution Team.

Former fitness club owner pleads guilty to illegal video recording at facility
– San Luis Obispo County District Attorney Dan Dow has announced that San Luis Obispo City resident Cole Charles Corrigan, 36, has pleaded guilty to two counts of illegally recording patrons within the restroom of the now-shuttered CCC Fitness, and to being a felon in possession of a handgun. The illegal video recording counts are misdemeanors. The gun charge is a felony.
At the time of the illegal recording, Corrigan was the owner of CCC Fitness in San Luis Obispo. The video recording occurred in Aug. 2023. On Sept. 13, 2023, officers served a search warrant and he was found to illegally be in possession of a handgun. In his guilty plea to illegally possessing the handgun, Corrigan admitted a 2007 felony conviction for possessing narcotics for the purpose of sale.
Corrigan is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 19, 2023, in Department 10 of the San Luis Obispo County Superior Court, with the Honorable Jesse Marino presiding.
The case was investigated by the San Luis Obispo Police Department and is being prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Kimberly R. Dittrich of the District Attorney’s Sexual Assault Prosecution Team.

Update: Police asking DA to press additional charge in hidden camera case
– On Aug. 23, the San Luis Obispo Police Department received a report of a hidden camera that had been discovered in the restroom of CCC Fitness located at 81 Higuera Street in San Luis Obispo.
Cole Corrigan was identified as a suspect in the investigation and a search warrant was served at his residence in Morro Bay on Sept. 13. During the service of that warrant, electronic devices were seized and analysis of those devices has now been completed. Two victims were identified that were captured on the hidden camera in the restroom, and those two victims have been notified. There are no additional victims detectives are seeking to contact.
This portion of the investigation has concluded and will be forwarded to the SLO County District Attorney’s Office for review. SLOPD is asking that an additional charge of misdemeanor filming in an area where there is an expectation of privacy be filed against Corrigan.

Weapon, drug charges filed against gym owner in hidden camera case
– On Wednesday, detectives from the San Luis Obispo Police Department served a search warrant at a home in the 2000 block of Bayview in Morro Bay. The search warrant was obtained as part of the investigation into the video camera found in the bathroom of CCC Fitness in late August.

SLO Police investigating report of hidden camera in gym restroom
– The San Luis Obispo Police Department is actively investigating a reported hidden camera reportedly found in a restroom of a gym at 81 Higuera Street in San Luis Obispo, according to a recent Facebook post by the department.
