Firefighters rescue two people, dog from high tide in Avila Beach

Firefighters used a simple rope system to bring the individuals and the dog to safety

– Firefighters rescued two people and a dog who became trapped by a high tide in Avila Beach on Sunday, officials said in a social media post.

Firefighters used a simple rope system to bring the individuals and the dog to safety. Members of the county’s urban search and rescue team responded as a precaution in case a water-based rescue was needed.

No injuries were reported, according to fire officials.
