Fire department dresses up as cops for Halloween luncheon
– In a surprising twist at this year’s Halloween luncheon hosted by the city for its employees, the Atascadero Fire & Emergency Services Department made a bold choice by dressing up as police officers.
The annual event in the city featured a costume contest, with city departments encouraged to participate. However, every department, except for the Police Department, joined in the festivities, showcasing their creativity with various costumes. The police officers, however, opted not to wear costumes.
To the amusement of all in attendance, the Atascadero Fire & Emergency Services personnel donned police uniforms, complete with big sunglasses, mustaches, ballistic vests, and even donuts.
City residents were left amused and entertained by the unexpected role reversal. The Atascadero Police Department offered well-wishes for a safe and happy Halloween to everyone, and they teasingly encouraged citizens to report any sightings of police officers riding in a firetruck, hinting at the ongoing friendly rivalry between the two departments.
