Female driver dies after collision on Highway 46
–On Nov. 17 at approximately 8:47 p.m., a broadside collision occurred on Highway 46 and Geneseo Road in Paso Robles. The female driver, whose name is being withheld pending notification of kin, lost her life in the crash. She was driving her 2011 Honda Fit westbound and had stopped in the left lane at the intersection of Geneseo Road. Charles Bradshaw, a 44-year-old man from Santa Maria, was driving a GMC utility pick-up truck eastbound in the righthand lane driving approximately 65 mph approaching the intersection.
As Bradshaw approached the intersection, the female driver suddenly turned left directly into the path of Bradshaw, police say. The front end of the GMC struck the right side of the Honda, and both vehicles careened off the highway and onto the South East embankment of the intersection.
The female driver lost her life in the crash. Bradshaw complained of back pain and will seek his own treatment, according to police.
Impairment is not expected however this crash is still under investigation.
