Family-owned Idler’s Home celebrates 70 years on Central Coast
Business marks 70th anniversary with apple pie contest
– Idler’s Home, a family-owned furniture and appliance store, will celebrate its 70th anniversary on Aug. 9. Founded in 1954 by WWII veteran Bud Idler and his wife Avis, the store has expanded from a modest downtown location to five establishments along the Central Coast. Over the years, Idler’s Home has supported numerous local initiatives and charities, reflecting its dedication to social responsibility.
The store’s success is based on providing quality products and exceptional customer service. Idler’s Home offers furniture, mattresses, appliances, outdoor items such as spas and grills, and full-service kitchen design and cabinets, all backed by professional installation services.
Idler’s Home invites the public to join its 70th-anniversary celebration with the Apple Pie Bakery competition on Sept. 21 at the Santa Maria location. The competition, marking its 36th year, is free to enter and will start at noon. Local celebrity judges will announce the winners after the judging concludes. The Grand Prize is a $2,500 Bosch range, with second prize being a $1,200 Bosch dishwasher, and Bosch stand mixers awarded for third and fourth places.
