CHILDREN’S PROGRAMS

Preschool Storytime
Preschool storytimes are scheduled on Monday and Wednesday mornings at 10:30. We will share stories and songs.

Toddler Storytime
Join us for a storytime specifically designed for your toddler every Friday morning at 10:30. We will share stories, rhymes, music and finger plays.

Rhyme Time Storytime
In celebration of Poetry Month, our toddler time will feature poems and rhymes! Fri, Apr. 13 at 10:30

Craft Club
Come make a fun project! Held on Tues, April 3 at 3:30 p.m. Registration required. Ages 6 to 12.

Zoo To You
Learn fun facts about animals at this Conservation Ambassador Program. Weds, April 4 at 3:30 p.m. All ages.

Family Movie
Saturday,  April 7 at 2:00 p.m. See library website for details. All ages.

Teen Succulent Design Workshop
Saturday,  April 7 at 11 a.m. Registration required. Ages 10-17.

Paws to Read to Daisy
Thursday, April 5 and Thursday, April 19, at 3:30 p.m. Practice reading anything to Daisy the dog and she will listen! School age.

X-Treme Science and Magic Show
Join us Weds, April 11 at 3:30 p.m. for this exciting science show! All ages.

Poetry and Pizza for Teens
Celebrate poetry month with your friends. We’ll create poetry, have an open mic and eat pizza! Friday, April 13 and 27 Ages 12-17.

Mad Science of LA
Sounds like science is the theme of this fantastic science program. Saturday, April 14 at 11:00 a.m. All ages.

Lego Club
Join us Saturday, April 21 at 2:00 for some Lego building fun! Registration required. Ages 5-12.

Adult Programs

American Traditions – Quilts and Poetry
Selected poetry will be displayed in April, along with quilts created by local quilters on the theme of American Traditions. A reception is planned for Thursday, April 5, from 5:30-7 p.m. Light refreshments will be served and all are invited.

Build Your Own Box (made easy)
Tuesday , April 3 from 3:30- 4:30 p.m.
You CAN make a box from a greeting card. Janelle LaFond will show you how in this workshop. Bring 2 greetings cards or use ones provided and have some fun! These nifty little boxes can be used as decoration or gift boxes for special events.

Home Food Preservation
Thursday,  April 5 from 6:00-7:00 p.m.
Join Master Food Preservers Sarah Arana and Jojo Brung as they show how to make sauerkraut at home as well as discuss the basics of fermentation and associated food safety.

Resumes for Results
Saturday, April 7, from 10:30-11:30 p.m.
Join retired Cuesta College instructor Janelle LaFond, as she teaches you to highlight your experience. Avoid “obituary” resumes that only list what you have done, and convince prospective employers what you can do for them.

Book Discussion Groups
The two library book groups are Gems in the Stacks which meets the 1st Tuesday (April 3) of the month at 11:00 a.m. and Mixed Minds Book Group which meets the 3rd Thursday (April 19) of the month at 2:30 p.m. Gems in the Stacks will discuss We Never Asked For Wings by Vanessa Diffenbaugh. Mixed Minds Book Group will discuss News of the World by Paulette Jiles.

How to Download Workshop
Saturday, April 19 at 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Learn how to download free library electronic resources such as EBooks, audiobooks, video, music, and magazines all with your smartphone or tablet. Reservations requested (http://slolibrary.evanced.info/signup/Calendar) or call (805) 461-6162.

Alice Creasy Rew Bookstore
The Alice Creasy Rew Bookstore is located by the lobby of the Atascadero Library. This is the place to find great used books for sale at fabulous bargain prices.
