ECHO helps 151 individuals and families secure housing so far in 2024
ECHO offers two shelter models: a 90-day shelter and a night-by-night shelter
– The El Camino Homeless Organization has announced that it has helped 151 individuals and families secure housing as of August. ECHO provides comprehensive support services to those experiencing homelessness, including emergency shelter, case management, job search assistance, and life skills training.
“This achievement underscores the effectiveness of our programs and the commitment of our staff, volunteers, and community partners,” said Wendy Lewis, CEO of ECHO. “Every success story represents a life transformed and a step towards ending homelessness in our community.”
ECHO offers two shelter models: a 90-day shelter and a night-by-night shelter. Case management services guide clients in navigating available resources and creating personalized plans for achieving stability. Street outreach programs engage with individuals experiencing homelessness to connect them with essential services. The shelter also provides job search assistance and life skills training to help clients transition to independent living.
ECHO operates two facilities in Atascadero and Paso Robles, with a total bed capacity of 130. The Atascadero shelter has 60 beds, and the Paso Robles shelter has 70 beds. In addition to housing, ECHO offers a daily community dinner program and shower program for individuals and families throughout San Luis Obispo County.
