Earthquake hits near Cayucos
3.1 magnitude earthquake and smaller quake shake parts of North Coast
–An earthquake measuring 3.1 magnitude hit 13 km west of Cayucos on Tuesday, May 24 at about 12:15 p.m. with a smaller aftershock following measuring 2.5 magnitude at 12:41 p.m.
The first quake was measured at a depth of 4.8 km and the second quake was measured at a depth of 4.9 km by the U.S. Geological Survey.
There have been no reports of damage or injury.
