Down Syndrome Awareness Walk set for Oct. 11 at Atascadero
Atascadero Lake Park.
– The first annual Down Syndrome Awareness Walk will take place Oct. 11 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Atascadero Lake Park, 9305 Pismo Ave. The event is open to the public.
Participants will meet at the barbecues and walk around the lake. A picnic will follow the walk. The event is free and organized by volunteers.
October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month, and the walk is being held to mark the occasion. Organizers ask those interested in volunteering, donating or contributing to contact Melissa at (805) 459-1195. Organizers also ask attendees to RSVP.
