– By the Sea Productions is presenting “The Outsider,” a non-partisan campaign comedy by Paul Slade Smith. The play follows a brilliant but shy lieutenant governor who unexpectedly becomes governor and struggles with the role until a group of off-beat advisors helps prepare him, leading to comedic outcomes.

Hank Wethington directs the production, which aims to celebrate democracy while satirizing politics. The cast features Tom Ammon, Jenny Beck, Samvel Gottlieb, Tina Leonard, Tim Linzey, and Alex Munoz.

“The Outsider” runs on weekends from Oct. 11 to Oct. 27 at 545 Shasta Ave., Morro Bay. Tickets and reservations are available at bytheseaproductions.org or by calling (805) 776-3287.
