DA investigator out after allegations of perjury
An investigator for the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office is no longer employed there following accusations of misconduct.
The DA issued a statement Thursday: “Effective February 14, 2015, Mr. Santana is no longer employed by the District Attorney’s Office. Due to applicable employee privacy concerns, we are unable to release any detailed information at this time. The District Attorney’s Office is very careful to ensure that we meet our legal and ethical responsibilities as an employer, a law enforcement agency, and as a prosecution agency.”
In November the San Luis Obispo Tribune reported: District Attorney Investigator A.J. Santana, a seven-year veteran of the District Attorney’s Office, was placed on leave in October while officials determine whether he committed perjury by supplying a judge with a false affidavit in order to search a drug suspect’s home and car.
