County library announce new winter reading program
– Readers are invited to start the new year with the Cozy Winter Reading program from County of San Luis Obispo Public Libraries Jan. 1 – Feb. 10.
“Folks who enjoy a cozy reading vibe will get a fun way to track and celebrate their reading achievements this winter,” said Erica Thatcher, marketing coordinator for the libraries. “It’s all about warm blankets and lots of books.”
Kids, teens, and adults can visit any of the county’s 14 libraries to pick up a vintage-inspired library book card to track their titles. For every three books they read and rate, readers receive a small souvenir and an entry in a grand prize drawing for reading-themed goodies.
Cards must be submitted between Jan. 1 and Feb. 10 to be eligible for prizes.
“We’ve got so many great books on our shelves and eBooks available for download. We hope readers will borrow a little extra reading material for cold nights and rainy afternoons,” said Thatcher. “Books make winter better.”
Readers can visit SLOLibrary.org for more information about eBooks, getting a library card, or about the library’s 14 locations throughout the county, including the Atascadero library, located at 6555 Capistrano Ave.
