Councilman Brian Sturtevant endorses State Assembly candidate

Candidate for State Assembly, Jordan Cunningham, this week announced the endorsement of Atascadero City Councilman Brian Sturtevant in his campaign to represent District 35 in the State Assembly.
First elected in 2010, Sturtevant served on the Atascadero Planning Commission from 2008 to 2010. The former mayor pro tem was re-elected to the council in 2014. He works as a mechanical maintenance supervisor at Diablo Canyon Power Plant.
“Jordan Cunningham is the sort of leader the entire Central Coast needs to represent us in the State Assembly,” Sturtevant said. “We need a voice in Sacramento. Jordan will be that voice.”

After graduating from Atascadero High School, Cunningham graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University with a degree in physics. He then served as a Senate Fellow in the California Legislature, working for the Senate Minority Leader on policy and legislation before he obtained his law degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
After graduation, Cunningham worked in Washington D.C. as an attorney in private practice, a federal law clerk, and an attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice. He later returned home to become a Deputy District Attorney in the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office. He now represents individuals, families, and local businesses as the owner and founder of Cunningham Law Group.
