Costume contest, trick or treating return to SLO Farmers’ Market
–Halloween festivities return to the Downtown SLO Farmers’ Market on Thursday, Oct. 31 from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Activities include a costume contest and trick-or-treating at participating Downtown businesses. This event is free, family-friendly, and open to the public.
Trick-or-treating runs from 5 to 8 p.m. Maps of participating business as well as treat bags will be available at the Union Bank parking lot at 995 Higuera Street.
The costume contest will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sign up for the contest beginning at 5 p.m. at the Union Bank parking lot. A KJUG DJ will be onsite at the event. The contest offers prizes from local businesses for winners in the 0-2, 3-4, 5-8 and 9-12 age groups, as well as additional prizes for pairs and groups including parents, older children, and pets. The costume contest is sponsored by Doc Burnstein’s Ice Cream Lab, and is judged by a representative from each of the following: Doc Burnstein’s Ice Cream Lab, Downtown SLO Board of Directors, and San Luis Obispo City Council.
Please note pets are allowed at the Union Bank parking lot for the costume contest but are still not allowed at The Market per CA Health and Safety Code. Attendees can share and RSVP to the event on the Facebook event page.
