Construction set to improve pedestrian access on Santa Rosa Road
Construction is scheduled to begin on March 18 and is expected to be completed in May
– The City of Atascadero will begin work on the Community Development Block Grant Santa Rosa Road Accessibility Project. The project will include the repair and modification of sidewalks, curbs, ADA ramps, and railings on Santa Rosa Road between El Camino Real and Highway 101, as well as pavement repair for 400 feet of Santa Rosa Road.
The project is a significant improvement to the city’s pedestrian accessibility network, addressing facilities that have been damaged or require upgrades to meet modern accessibility standards. Construction is scheduled to begin on March 18 and is expected to be completed in May 2025. Souza Construction is the project contractor.
During construction, traffic will be maintained in both directions, though travel lanes will be shifted to the south side of Santa Rosa Road. The sidewalk on Santa Rosa Road will be closed for the duration of the project.
Drivers are encouraged to pay close attention to traffic signs and expect delays near the construction zones.
