Community turns out for annual ‘Cornhole Showdown’
More than 125 people participate in annual tournament
–More than 125 participants competed in a Cornhole Tournament at Atascadero’s Sunken Gardens Saturday. Each two-person team played at least nine games. The top teams won cash prizes. The game is a bean bag toss toward an open hole in a wooden target situated about ten yards distance.
The Cornhole Tournament was co-sponsored by the Knights of Columbus, Atascadero Kiwanis and the City of Atascadero, Mike Lopicolo of Knights of Columbus said, “The City of Atascadero promoted the event and arranged for a band. It turned out great.”
Among the top finishers, Bryan and Emily Fortin, a father/daughter team, placed 3rd out of 64 two-person teams.
A qualifying event also took place at the Ravine Water Park in Paso Robles.
