Community center to host summer babysitting and CPR camp 

Babysitting & CPR skills will be taught in June by Janet Tingley at the Colony Park Community Center in Atascadero. This camp is open to 11-15 year olds and is designed to teach babysitting childcare skills; campers will receive infant/child CPR certification, first aid safety tips & instruction, and babysitting responsibility education. Campers will also learn about basic care needs for different age groups of children and storytelling.

Space is limited. The camp fee is $46.50 for residents, $51 for non-residents. An additional $55 is due at the first class for materials. The materials fee includes a CPR book & card, babysitting certificate, first aid/babysitting kit with children’s activities and handouts.

The legal requirement is for children to be at least 13 years old in order to babysit, otherwise an adult must also be present.

The camp will take place at the Colony Park Community Center located at 5599 Traffic Way in Atascadero, June 15 through the 19 from 1-5 p.m.
