City of Atascadero to present ‘Trail of Lights’ 

City of Atascadero to presents 'Trail of Lights'Tour map now available, deadline to register for contest is Dec. 6

– The City of Atascadero has announced the 2nd annual “Trail of Lights” holiday lighting tour map to know exactly where to take an evening drive or neighborhood stroll to see all of the decorated local homes. The trail will be full of lights to enjoy from Dec. 6 through the 25.

The Trail of Lights tour map provides an opportunity for residents and businesses to show off their homes and storefronts, and for families to enjoy a safe and fun activity driving through town to check out all the outdoor lights this season.

Here is how it works:

  • To participate in the lighting contest, register your address for the “Trail of Lights” map no later than midnight on Dec. 6 by going to www.VisitAtascadero.com/TrailofLights.
  • To be eligible for the lighting contest, you must include a photo of your decorations when you register. Photo submission is optional if you don’t want to be part of the contest.
  • Winning categories include “Best Use of Theme,” “Most Creative Light Display” and “Best Overall Light Display.”

 

Note – “Best Use of Theme,” will be any theme that you pick, such as Disney, the Grinch, snowmen, Santa Claus, or something else, it’s your choice!

The trail starts on Dec. 6 and continues through Dec. 25 from 5-8 p.m. It’s free to participate and you can register after the Lighting Contest deadline as well.

The deadline to register the address of your home or business for the lighting contest is Dec. 6. There is an opportunity to vote for your favorite light display from Dec. 7 up until midnight on Dec. 9. Winners will be announced Dec. 10 at the Winter Wonderland event downtown and posted to the city’s social media pages. Contest winners will receive gift cards to local local businesses for 1st and 2nd place.
