– It’s October and fall is in the air! We have many fall events in the city and throughout North County over the next few weeks, and I think there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

• Zoo Boo – Oct. 29, 5-8:30 p.m.: First, I want to let you know about a fun event for the entire family at our beloved Charles Paddock Zoo. It’s Zoo Boo! Perfect for all ages, Zoo Boo features Halloween decorations, carnival games, a costume contest, a haunted house, lots of fun Halloween activities, and tricks and treats galore. It’s a blast!
• Trick or Treat on Entrada – Oct. 31, 5-8 p.m.: Bring the kids and the pets Downtown on Halloween to Trick or Treat on Entrada, hosted by the Downtown Business Improvement District Committee. There’ll be 20 vendors offering lots of treats, bounce houses, costume contests for both families and pets, music, a hay maze, and so much more. Free to attend!
• Fall First Fridays – Nov. 4, 5-7 p.m.: This Fall First Fridays concert will feature Unfinished Business and will be held at The Plaza, across from Sunken Gardens, in between Klem’s and LOL Yogurt. Everyone is encouraged to bring a low-back chair and the entire family for an enjoyable evening of great tunes from the 60s & 70s. There will be a complimentary bounce house and food for purchase from local food trucks. The event is free to attend. Make time to stroll through the Downtown to enjoy food, drink, as well as entertainment options like a round of golf at Mr. Putters Putt Put Golf, or a movie at Colony Cinemas.
• Bovine Classic – Nov. 5: Get ready for the Bovine Classic, affectionately known as the fourth hardest cow-themed gravel cycling ride. This renowned event gathers cyclists from around the world to enjoy our community’s rugged landscape and natural beauty. As we welcome cycling visitors to town, please watch your speed while driving and be extra cautious of cyclists on the road.
• Veterans Day Ceremony – Nov. 11, 11 a.m.: I hope you’ll join us for the Atascadero Veterans Memorial Foundation’s annual Veterans Day Ceremony at the Faces of Freedom Memorial, located at the corner of Morro Road and Portola Road. This event is humbling, inspiring, and even features a breathtaking flyover by the Estrella Warbirds. You don’t want to miss it.
• Garagiste Festival – Nov. 11-13: The Garagiste Festival returns and will kick off right here at the Pavilion on the Lake on Friday night with the popular Rare and Reserve Party, where you can taste over 50 of the best wines that Garagiste has to offer. With only 200 tickets available for the special Friday night event, you’ll want to book yours right away.
• Holiday Boutique – Nov. 12, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.: It’s nearly time for the annual Holiday Boutique at the Pavilion on the Lake! Kick off the holiday season with over 50 craft vendors selling handmade wares. Vendor registration is now open. You never know what you might take home or what unique gift you might find in time for the holiday season.
• Atascadero Fall Festival – Nov. 18-20: The City of Atascadero and the Atascadero Tourism Business Improvement District are thrilled to be the sponsors of the Atascadero Fall Festival, presented by En Fuego Events. Historic City Hall, Sunken Gardens, and the Downtown will be the stage as a variety of carnival rides and games arrive, along with musical entertainment, and a whole lot more!
• Pumpkin Smash – Nov. 19, 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.: And finally, what would a tiger do with a pumpkin? What about a fossa? Will the meerkats crawl inside a pumpkin or just eat it? Join us at the Charles Paddock Zoo for our annual Pumpkin Smash! This fun and hilarious event will get the whole family laughing.
