City leaders highlight growth at Atascadero State of the City
– The Atascadero Chamber of Commerce hosted the 2025 Atascadero State of the City event earlier this month, which drew over 200 community members, local businesses, and city leaders. The event, held at Colony Theaters, reflected on the city’s accomplishments and future goals, focusing on economic development, infrastructure improvements, and community engagement.
City Manager Jim Lewis delivered a presentation outlining the city’s achievements in key areas, while providing insights into upcoming projects aimed at enhancing Atascadero’s growth and quality of life.
Community Development Manager Phil Dunsmore and Deputy Director of Economic Development Loreli Cappel presented the “Authentic Atascadero” vision, unveiling plans for the 2045 General Plan.
Director of Community Services Terrie Banish offered a presentation on tourism, marketing, and recreation. She highlighted strategic initiatives designed to increase Atascadero’s appeal, drive visitor engagement, and foster a vibrant community atmosphere.
Charles Paddock Zoo Director Cynthia Springfield presented updates on new exhibits and developments at the zoo, emphasizing its importance as a treasured part of the community.
“This year’s state of the city truly showcased the dedication and collaboration that drives Atascadero forward,” said President and CEO of the Atascadero Chamber of Commerce Josh Cross, “We are proud to facilitate conversations that help inform and engage our community.”
