City announces open registration for kickball, basketball leagues
– The City of Atascadero is gearing up for Spring with open registrations for both the Adult Social Kickball League and the Adult Basketball League.
Adult Social Kickball – 2024 Spring Season
Team registrations are currently open until Feb. 16 for the Adult Social Kickball League. The league will bring back the nostalgia of elementary school playground days, with games scheduled on Wednesday evenings at the Paloma Creek softball fields. The Spring season is slated to commence on March 13 and conclude on May 1, featuring eight evenings of games.
Games will consist of seven innings or one hour, whichever comes first. Teams are required to be co-ed, and applications are accepted for entire teams only. The team size must range from a minimum of 11 players to a maximum of 18 players. A team manager’s meeting is scheduled for the week before games start, with the exact time and date to be determined.
League fees for kickball amount to $421 per team, with an additional $5 per non-resident player. For teams with eight or more non-resident players, an extra 10% fee of $42.10 applies. All team registrations and fees must be submitted at the Colony Park Community Center front desk, located at 5599 Traffic Way, Monday through Friday, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Adult Basketball – 2024 Spring Season
For the Adult Basketball League, teams have until March 8 to submit their registrations. The basketball league will run from March 24 to June 2, allowing for eight regular-season games with some holidays off. Games are scheduled on Sundays at the Colony Park Community Center.
Similar to kickball, teams for the Adult Basketball League must be co-ed, and applications are accepted on a team basis only. The team size ranges from a minimum of 8 players to a maximum of 12 players. A Team Manager’s meeting is set for the week of March 11, with the exact time and date to be announced.
League fees for basketball teams are $473, with a $5 per non-resident player fee. For teams with eight or more non-resident players, there is an additional 10% fee of $47.30. Registration forms for both leagues are available, and interested parties can obtain them by contacting (805) 470-3360 or emailing [email protected].
