City announces launch of new website
City says it recognized the need to upgrade the current site to be mobile-friendly, ADA-compliant, easy to navigate, easy to search, and offer simple ways to highlight Atascadero
– The City of Atascadero has announced the launch of a state-of-the-art update to the city’s primary website, www.Atascadero.org, providing new upgrades, streamlined formatting, and a user-friendly experience across all devices, designed with the residents, businesses, and visitors in mind. As the community of Atascadero has grown and evolved, the importance of updating to a newer digital platform to meet the needs of the community was a priority.
As expectations for online access and engagement have increased over the years, the city says it recognized the need to upgrade the current site to be mobile-friendly, ADA-compliant, easy to navigate, easy to search, and offer simple ways to highlight Atascadero. In 2022, The city selected Planeteria Media, a website developer based in Santa Rosa, California, to redesign the city’s website from the ground up. Planeteria has worked on designing and developing many community-focused websites for municipalities since 1999, and they matched well with the goals the city had for the site. In November 2023, the city performed a soft launch of the new website representative of Atascadero’s brand and character to serve as an upgraded, flexible, and effective communication tool to engage with the community.
Atascadero.org offers a user-friendly interface with a modern layout and professional tools for residents, businesses, and visitors to easily navigate and find what they are looking for. The new website offers modern visual design representing the friendly spirit of our community and highlighting signature events, project updates, public meetings, popular landmarks, open spaces, and attractions found in our city. The upgraded navigation has streamlined access to forms, permits applications and processes, business and resident guides, and a new credit card payment system, making it easy to do business online. In addition to these improvements, the site provides convenient access to the Community Events and Public Meetings Calendar, Department Information, and overall, improved tools to help site visitors find information quickly. The website also provides ADA compliance ensuring accessibility to everyone, along with the ability to translate the site into different languages, making it an inclusive online experience for all residents, business owners, and visitors of Atascadero.
