Charles Paddock Zoo website gets a makeover
–Atascadero’s Charles Paddock Zoo, the Friends of the Charles Paddock Zoo support organization and the City of Atascadero recently announce that the zoo’s website, www.charlespaddockzoo.org, has had a makeover and was given a new look.
Over the past six months, city and zoo staff have been working with Clever Concepts, a local web development and graphic design studio, to develop, update and add new and necessary features to the website. The new site is now not only easy to navigate and pleasing to the eye, but it offers fun facts and important information about all of the animals, the different species and the biodiversity hotspots that make up the Charles Paddock Zoo.
Functional features are a major component of the overhaul that also includes the ability to purchase zoo memberships, “friend” a specific animal and stay up-to-date with all the events happening at the zoo. Additional new features include the “Quarters for Conservation Program,” which helps to raise funds to support wildlife in areas that are recovering from major disasters, such as Australia. Only programs and institutions that are recommended by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) are selected by the zoo for funding support.
Check out the “Get Involved” menu item at the top of the homepage and find out about the many ways to support the zoo. You can sign up for our volunteer or internship programs, or donate an item from the zoo’s “Wish List.”
