Charles Paddock Zoo celebrates 70 years at Ice Cream Zoofari
Event includes admission to the zoo and access to ice cream, sundaes, and toppings
– The Charles Paddock Zoo will celebrate its 70th anniversary alongside the 22nd annual Ice Cream Zoofari on Saturday, June 7, from 5 to 8 p.m.
A special unveiling of the zoo’s new name will take place at 5 p.m. sharp during the event.
The event will feature all-you-can-eat ice cream, sundaes, toppings, and celebratory cake while supplies last. Live music will be provided by DJ RRAMA. Visitors can participate in hands-on activities with Central Coast Trains and Zookeeper Chats, and explore various animal habitats.
Ice cream will be provided by Harmony Cellars, with flavors including vanilla bean, chocolate, strawberry, salted caramel, coffee bean, cookies n’ cream, mint n’ chip, and butter pecan.
All proceeds will support the zoo’s ongoing work in animal care, conservation, and education.
This event invites the community to celebrate the zoo’s past, present, and future while enjoying a variety of sweet treats and activities.
Ticket prices are $16 for guests ages 13 and older, $11 for children ages 3 to 12, and free for children ages 2 and under. Zoo members receive a $2 discount per ticket. Tickets can be purchased in advance at www.VisitAtascadero.com/IceCreamZoofari.
The Charles Paddock Zoo is located at Atascadero Lake Park on Highway 41, one mile west of Highway 101. It is the only zoo in San Luis Obispo County accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. The zoo is open daily and houses hundreds of animals.
