Charles Paddock Zoo hosting International Tiger Day event, camp
–International Tiger Day is celebrated across the globe and the Charles Paddock Zoo will be joining in the annual celebration on Saturday, July 29 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Today, there are only 3,200 tigers left in the wild and if we don’t do something to protect them, they will be gone before we know it! Join us in learning all about tigers and what you can do to help save these magnificent animals from extinction. Admission will include fun activities for the kids, such as games, face painting and lots of learning plus a Zoo Keeper talk at 11 a.m.
In addition to the celebration going on at the Zoo, there will be an International Tiger Camp offered from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. for ages 7 – 12 years old. In this camp, kids will learn about the Zoo’s Malayan Tiger. They will learn about his history, his care at the zoo and why we work so hard to protect him. Kids will also learn facts about tiger conservation efforts along with other fun activities. The cost is $25 per person and $2 off for our zoo members. Pick up and drop off will be at the Ranger House located next to the Pavilion on the Lake at 9315 Pismo Ave., Atascadero. For more information or to sign up for this camp, call the zoo at 461-3172 or email [email protected].
