Chamber of commerce helps 131 businesses launch free websites
‘Get Your Business Online’ program has saved local businesses over $100,000 in upfront costs
– The Atascadero Chamber of Commerce announced the success of its “Get Your Business Online” (GYBO) program, which has saved local businesses over $100,000 in upfront costs. The program, launched 18 months ago, aims to assist businesses in transitioning to the digital age by offering complimentary website services.
The chamber has supported 131 businesses through the GYBO program, helping them create and launch customized websites tailored to their needs. Jose Guadarrama, program manager, continues to provide ongoing support and education in digital literacy, including Spanish translations to aid Hispanic-owned businesses.
The program has addressed the high costs associated with digital support, such as website development and ongoing maintenance. By offering these services at no charge, the chamber has enabled businesses to save significant amounts of money typically spent on inquiries, consultations, design, graphics, software, and time, which can start at $1,000.
“Many businesses simply don’t have the time or budget to invest $1,000 in website services and maintenance,” Guadarrama said. “Our program is designed to be an accessible starting point, helping businesses get acquainted with and navigate the digital landscape with purpose.”
The program highlights the essential need for businesses to establish a strong online presence. The growing demand for the program’s services underscores the challenges many businesses face in keeping pace with the rapidly evolving digital landscape. The chamber has delivered immediate cost savings and equipped businesses with digital literacy training necessary for long-term success.
As it moves toward its goal of creating 200 business websites, the chamber encourages business start-ups and those without websites to apply. Visit www.getyourbusinessonline.co to get your free website today.
