CASA offers volunteer training in North County 

–Forty percent of all foster children live in North County and CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of San Luis Obispo County is still looking for volunteers to join its October training class in Atascadero.

The training is being held at the Morro Road Education Center- 8005 Morro Road in Atascadero. In-person training sessions will be held on six consecutive Monday nights: Oct 16, 23, 30 and Nov 6, 13 and 20 from 6–9 pm.

Thirty hours of training are required in order to be sworn in as a CASA Advocate or Mentor. Half of the 30-hour requirement will be completed in on-line training, and half completed in person. Anyone interested in joining this class should contact CASA as soon as possible. Volunteers must complete an application and interview before training.
