Candle sparks house fire in Paso Robles
Occupants were assisted out of the home by police
–On Friday afternoon at 12:24 p.m., Paso Robles Department of Emergency Services was dispatched to a reported single-family residential structure fire at 315 14th Street in Paso Robles. The reporting party stated flames and smoke were coming from a rear bedroom of the residence.
The first fire engine reached the scene within approximately four minutes. This initial fire crew reported a single family residence with light smoke coming from the rear of the structure. The occupants were assisted out of the home by Paso Robles Police Officers prior to Emergency Service Engine arrival.
The fire’s cause was a candle to close to combustible drapery. Loss was estimated at $5,000 contents and some structure.
Firefighters from Paso Robles, and SLO County Fire Department worked to keep the fire from spreading outside a rear bedroom of the residence. In total, nine firefighters operating from three engines and one chief officer worked to contain the fire. Additional assistance was provided by Paso Robles Police Department and San Luis Ambulance Service.
